Healing Process and Scars
After the procedure, patients may experience some swelling, bruising and discomfort that can be controlled with medication, cold compresses and ointment. Besides the swelling, you can see more lid shown immediately after the procedure. Incisions are removed 1 week post surgery, however, it may take a few months before final healing is completed. The scar is hidden and will fade over time.

Testimonials
"Dr. Maia is a fantastic doctor. I did my blepharoplasty with her and I'm very happy with the results! She made me feel comfortable the whole time and also her staff were amazing and very helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Maia and I will continue to use her services in the future for sure."
"I was so pleased with my recent eye lid and brow surgery that I wanted to say a special thank you to Dr. Munique Maia. While I am a very active 70 year old, I had the feeling that I always looked tired with my heavy eyelids and now I have my bright blue eyes showing again. My friends are all amazed at how great I look. I was only away from work for a week and I had no bruising, bandages or stitches showing. I was very good about keeping ice (using bags of peas) on my face, as directed by Dr. Maia, for three days which helped with swelling - which was almost non-existent. So I highly recommend her skill, gentleness and overall care. Thank you!!!"
"I was very hesitant about any kind of eye surgery. But when I went to Dr. Maia, she explained everything to me - good and bad. After many years of contemplating this, I decided to go for it. The surgery itself was not as bad as I expected. Since I was awake for the whole thing I was very wary about what I would experience and whether I would be able to handle it. It wasn’t pleasant but it wasn’t unbearable. I’m very happy with the results!"
